I leave a maintenance charger on all winter with the batteries in the boat

Re: battery

I have a boat that stays in a slip year-round. I have a charger that's designed to charge, then maintain, 3 batteries at the same time. The key to longetivity is to make sure the battery cell electrolyte levels are maintained because the constant electrical input will reduce them.

Whether this is a good idea or not depends on how "smart" the trickle charger is. The charger needs to be smart enough to actually charge only when needed.

thats what worries me, once they are fully charged will it shut down.. I have one on my harley all of the time when not riding it.. but it's right here where I can keep my eye on it..
like I said before you almost have to stand on your head to get them out..
I see guy's do it, could put a timer on the charges I guess
