Battery Wiring Question

I am having trouble wiring my batteries. I have a battery switch with 1-2-all-off, a trolling motor, power to the console, and two cranking batteries. I want to wire the console for both batteries and be able to turn off the power. Can I run two lines to the fuse box or how would I set up the wiring?
Thanks

Re: Battery Wiring Question

You want to be able to turn the switch to off but still have power to your console? If you run two lines from the cranking batteries to your fuse box, then your console will be drawing current off both batteries. If they go dead then what will you do? I'd replace the cranking batteries with deep cycle batteries and run one wire from the common post on your switch to the console. Before I did that I'd have a dedicated deep cycle for the console with its own switch and then use the cranking batteries to start your motor and run that trolling motor.

To answer your question though, I suppose you could run two lines to the fuse box from the batteries. But like I said you would then be drawing off each battery at the same time. It is a backasswards way of making those batteries work in parallel.
