I recently upgraded my trolling motor battery from 40Ah to 100Ah. I re-ran the wiring so to locate the battery in the front of the kayak. I used 10G wire. Also, it is still on a 50Amp auto reset fuse.
Do I need heavier wiring? and what size fuse? Auto reset or manual?

thanks in advance,

How much current does the motor draw? I'm guessing you're talking about a very short cable run on a kayak. You should be good with 10g wire.

10Ga wire is rated for 30amps. Is 360W enough for your trolling motor?

Probably 10 feet from battery to motor. Trolling motor is 46# thrust. I don't know how much current it draws.

Your minn kota will draw 45+ amps, turning the 10 gauge wire into a toaster element

You will need 6 gauge wire

That means you have a 20' run. I didn't realize a trolling motor draws as much current as Scott says, I'd go by what he said and use a larger cable.
