Battery storage in parallel?

Hello everyone

I usually pull all my boat batteries out for the winter and store them in the warm basement, on a piece of wood (not on concrete). The thing is, I have a lot of batteries to store. a battery from the seadoo, two trolling motor batteries, a starting battery from each boat, a friend's boat's battery, and a couple more car batteries... about 8 in total. Buying 8 battery tenders... 😬. Would I be ok to just hook them up in parallel and put them on 1 maintainer? They're all 12 volt non agm batteries.

Thanks

All good so long as none have an issue. If one has an issue, then they all get hit, so I wouldn't.

Just move the tender to a different Bat every couple weeks

A "warm basement" is not the place to store (higher discharge rate) or charge (hydrogen sulfide) batteries.

Unless you live in an area that regularly drops below in 0 degrees F (-18 C), your batteries would be better off stored in the garage to slow the rate of discharge and prevent the possible buildup of explosive fumes inside the house.

Storing a battery on a concrete floors have not been an issue in 50 years or so.

As the other guys said you don't need any wood, concrete is fine. If any of the batteries are the same type/capacity I would connect in parralell and move the charger every couple of months. we don't have basements here on the west coast so I would make sure you have ventilation or just stick them in your garage. Be sure to keep an eye on the water level to make sure you don't boil them dry.

I make sure they are fully charged unhook and leave them in the equipment. If they fail in the spring they were at the end of their life anyway.

I have 5 batteries and 5 individual maintainers. The maintainers were $30 a piece.
I pull them all and keep them maintained directly on the concrete floor in my basement.

I don't think maintaining them in parallel is a good idea for the reason others have stated.

My boat batteries are at least 8 seasons old that I know of. They were in the used boat when I bought it.
I think I'm doing something right, seeing how long they have lasted.
