battery placement

I have two batteries in the back of my 21foot Sportcraft Fisherman that I would like to move forward to improve weight distribution, as I have downriggers back there, along with the Mercruiser and a 10 hp kicker. Is there any downside to having about a 10 foot cable run between the batteries and the motors?

Not as long as the cables are sized correctly.
