Battery Isloator Question

Question about Battery Isloators. Below is a photo of the isolator. No branding on it, but it looks like it is designed for 2 alternators w/regulator feedback and three batteries. The strange part is as you can see only a single alternator is hooked up driving two batteries with no regulator feedback. So as best I can tell the boat is wired currently so the STBD engine charges STBD and house battery via the isolator and the PORT engine charges the PORT battery directly. Don't know why it would be hooked up this way unless the isloator went bad at some time. Any suggestions or should I look to hookup the STBD alternator also.

Re: Battery Isloator Question

The way they now have pictures set up we can really not see any details.

To start with it would be helpfull to know how many batteries you have.
If you have 3 batteries and 2 engines then the way you think it is wired is the way I would do it.
So how many batteries do you have and what is the function of each battery.
Are your alternators one wire alternators or 3 wire alternators?

Only question I would have is why they did not just buy the cheaper 2 battery isolator.
