I need a new battery hold down in my 16 ft Bass boat. 1984 Bayliner Fish and Ski. I-Boats sells a nice one with solid clamps and not straps. Has anyone used one of these? They are not much money, but a mistake here could cost some bucks.

Any other recomedations would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

The clampdown types work well too. They probably hold the battery more firmly in place. Their disadvantage is inconvenience. It tight spaces they can be frustrating.

i use one in my center console, that has the tray, a cross bar, held by 2 long nylon type bolts down to the base. you screw the tray down. it's all some type of plastic, no corrosion. similar to the new auto mounts. of course i have easy access. the battery is in a bench seat, and this was easier to deal with than the strap.

Thanks for the replys. I may go with one with a tray, but not the bolted hold down. Since tight space is an issue.

BTW I-boats is the best price I found for any of them. :)
