Battery charging question...

I have been storing my boat in my garage since I got it and may be moving to a place where I don't have boat storage on my property.

So...

I may have to start storing my boat in a yard without electrical power.
Here is my situation...

My boat is an 18' center console with 4 batteries onboard. 2 batteries are rigged in tandem and I use them to power my electronics, livewell and motor. The other 2 are for my 24V trolling motor. I have a 3 bank charger installed on the boat that I normally just plug in when I get home. It is configured so that 1 bank charges the tandem electronics and starting bateries and the other 2 banks charge the trolling motor batteries seperately.

I fish a lot and the boat never sits more than 3 or 4 days without being used. I'm sure that my 90HP Yamaha is charging the 2 batteries that it is connected to while it runs, but I don't know how much of a charge it gives. Also, I usually run the troller quite a bit when I fish, so the batteries need to be charged after each trip.

I've heard about solar panels for charging, but I have no idea if they will work with quickly enough to charge my batteries.

Unless you have a very large (and very expensive) solar panel it will not charge two batteries and it would then become a target for thieves as well. yours is a common problem for which there aren't many options.
