Battery Charger

Question, I have a dead boat battery, I have a charger I bought last year that plugs into an ac outlet to charge the device....can i plug the charger into an ac outlet and hook the connections to the battery and jump it that way...is this safe?

The charger is not for jumping, it's for charging. Plug the charger in, connect to battery making sure poles are correct & let it sit until the charger shows about 1-2 amps being drawn. A really dead battery, if it takes the charge at all, could take 24 hours to charge. Check water level in battery b/4 charging it, if it's low add distilled water. You should take the caps off when charging a near dead battery. Trying to jump with a charger could cause charger to fry. (not safe)
