Our local little University just released their annual list of words or phrases that ought to be banned from the language<br /><br /> http://www.lssu.edu/banished/current.php <br /><br />I have to concur with most of the selections

And my personal favorite, "point in time", e.g. "at this point in time", coined by R. Nixon. <br /><br />"At this point" would suffice.

It's an American "university", PW..What did you expect?<br />It seems like your local "university" is just trying to make a name for itself just like Berkley, Kent State, etc.<br />I just hope nobody dies over their campaign,as did in Ohio. That drew vacuum.<br />Seriously tho, a funny list

I would like to see the word, "insurgent" banished. They're terrorists.<br /><br />I would like to see "far" added to "left wing", as it is standard in "right wing".

I did however like the removal of 'holiday tree'.

I hope when they get rid of that "holiday tree" they dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.<br /><br />I also concur with the FEMA one!<br /><br />And they come up with a new list every year, and encourage nominations world-wide. It is admittedly a "tongue-in-cheek" effort, but it is entertaining.

If they want to ban certain words I feel they should concentrate on use of words..... ALL INFOMERCIALS should be banned from using ANY words! but wait there's more
