Baja Ignition Switch

Hello All and Happy New Year.

Before I can put my baby completely to bed I need to look into my ignition switch. The switch has three positions, OFF, RUN, START. When going from run to start the key should go back to the run position once I release the key from the start position. This is not happening automatically. I have to manually move the key to the run position. Outside of replace the ignition switch is there anything else I should look at?

Thank you,

Jim

Re: Baja Ignition Switch

Apparently there is a bit of corrosion inside. Give it a shot of Lock Cylinder Lubricant. Not a bath -- just shot of aerosol lubricant. Work the key a few times and see if it works normally. If so -- cheap fix. If not, replacing the switch is not rocket science. Get a new one right here on IBoats.

Re: Baja Ignition Switch

Thanks. Already gave that a shot with no success. I believe there is a spring inside to bring the key into the run position. Either way, it is not a big expense, but I wanted to look at "options" before purchasing one.

Thank you again.
