I have a 1989 mercruser with the alpha 1 gen 1.
on occasion when i trim down i just hear a click and no trim motor! i was curious what would happen if i bypassed the solenoid.
it trimmed down just fine when bypassed.
the clicking only happens sometimes.
Could it just be a bad solenoid?
