Lets review:
three different times we have taken the boat out for several hours on the lake; sometimes just running around at various RPM, another time with six adults doing same; and another tubing with five kids but during each time after having the motor running for hours with several restarts (run for a while around the lake, turn off motor, float for 30 - 60 mins, restart, move the boat, then try to restart and nothing, try and try to start and nothing....this has happened three times, it will not start and we are on the water). Every time by later that night or next day or a couple of weeks later the boat starts up fine, with no adjustments by me.
After lots of smart people here gave me suggestions I have; ordered my OMC manual, pulled out my heat gun and warmed the PowerPack till it was hot to the touch (three minutes on high pointing all around and at the powerpack), it still started and ran fine. I did the same thing to the stator area (general area under the flywheel all sides) and all around for several minutes with the heat gun on high. It still starts and runs.
So my point or question: I was talking with my wife and she pointed out that the boat sat for four years before we bought it and she filled it with 26 gallons of gas, it has a 29/30 gallon tank. so that is four parts bad gas to the 26 parts good. Additionally, we have run it down half way again and put in another 13 gallons of fresh gas so now, approximately it has 2 gallons of bad to the 28 gallons of good....could this be the cause of the mysterious 'no starts'?????
(note: the engine does not and has not died once while running it runs fine, a little rough but fine).
Thank you Stephen
