Thanks, @achris . . . Not too sure about my boat's 'personaility' other than it has a mind of its own when it comes to joysticking. I am still getting used to it, but all too often it seems to want to back the boat up rather than rotate it with like movements of the joystick.Basically it's the parameters of the boat including (but not limited to) length, beam, draft, windage, mass, centres of gravity, buoyancy, locations of thrust and drag, planing speed, power of the engines.... etc, etc, etc.
It's what the CPU uses to calculate how to apply power and in which directions to achieve the boat moving in the direction you push the joystick.
If you have access to your boat's personality file, BACK IT UP!

I often revert to the old school way of spinning/positioning the boat.
As for the OP, hopefully you can find some Cobalt owners willing to share their file. I would imagine that the previous owner of the boat got fed up with all the complexities of the tech stuff and reverted to traditional controls.
