Re: Axe Men?

I knew this show was a fake when I saw them have an outboard installed and no one bothered to check and see if the foot was in the proper position to churn water. A mistake a pro would NEVER MAKE. Its basics.I am begining to wonder about the swamp hunters since I saw that woman Liz use a pistol because she said she couldnot use the rifle with an out of adjustment site. For a close shot why would it matter? The only real thing about these shows is finding out how much the "actors" are being paid...It appears to be a secret.

Re: Axe Men?

I find all kinds of inconsistencies and technical mistakes that just ruin it for me.

There was a really obvious one on Dexter that torqued me off. Dexter (a serial killer) often rents cars when he does his deeds. His normal car is a gray Ford Escape. In this one episode, he gets involved in a high speed chase after a deed and wrecks the car he's driving which was an older Kia Sportage. So I'm like "OMG his wife is going to want to know why he was out driving a different car!!! He's so busted!" Then the next scene they're in the salvage lot and she's shocked by the amount of damage to "his car". I'm like "are you friggin' kidding me that we're just supposed to not notice that the Kia wasn't his normal car?"

Yup ^^^^^ and my family gets all mad when I notice that carp, and frankly I think it's just laziness.

Even Spielberg gets caught by it. My rain on the pavement, and then none comment, was actually rain on the windshield of the Ford Explorer in Jurassic Park. It's sitting there on their little ,stuck. One shot rain, next shot none. And then . . . these Explorers are on an automated, Disneylike style track, there is a shot underneath, and no connection to the track. Soooooo un-Spielberg like. Really bummed me out.

Truth is, real life is boring as heck when it comes to story telling. You need conflict to make it interesting and the higher level of conflict, the better the rating...take the TV shows 24 for example. On the edge of your seat television. I write short stories, novels, etc., and with that you learn how to arc a story...create conflict and resolution. Some have multiple arcs/conflicts, etc. The problem with knowing this is you understand how scripts and stories are written so you can tell, with crazy accuracy, when some will or won't happen. It like the outboard motor explosion...you knew it was coming. Then again, it didn't take a genius to figure that one out. Still, it spoils the whole mystery movie, or reality TV thing...not a lot of surprises anymore. I prefer a good book or a tight fishing line, and I love it when I can say..."Didn't see that one coming."

Some of my biggest pet peaves are.
When it's pouring rain and you can see in the background that is it beutiful sunny day.
When they adjust the aperature so the scene is dark to make a night shot and you can see the shadows from nice sunny day.
When they get in the car to drive somewhere on nice sunny day and then all of the sudden it is night time after ten minute drive.
