Automatic bilge pump brands using non-mechanical sensing?

My Rule ‎750 Automatic Bilge Pump, Model RM750A, has failed and looking to replace. This pump is an automatic type using a ‘field effect’ sensor to detect water (supposedly will not auto turn on if 100% oil). Also has a manual On. Since they no longer make these, I need to retrofit but do not what a separate or even a self-contained mechanical float and no way I am going with the newer type that turn on every 3 minutes: boat sits in water at dock sometimes for weeks and is a 23’ runabout so no shore power (and it’s not available anyway so cannot hook up a battery charger).

Anyone know of a good brand of bilge pump with auto feature using a similar non-mechanical type of float switch?

mechanical float switch is nearly bulletproof

The auto sensing units use far more battery power than a mechanical switch powered pump. If your battery goes dead in a week or two, perhaps you should control how much water is getting in to start with....

Airshot,
The newer type of auto pumps that turn on every few minutes is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I am not aware of a non-running current draw for the older type of Rule-Mate pumps that use some sort of reed switch devce (but frankly I do not know how they work). There is zero water leaking into the boat. And I have never had a dead battery even after leaving it for weeks at the dock. But an unattended boat at a dock must have a reliable ‘auto’ type pump and I am hopeful for some advice on this in the range of about 1000GPH.

Scott,
I may have been misled as I was cautioned away from mechanical float switches. Good to know different. I will now start looking at those. Any recommendations? Thanks,

a reed switch would be mounted to a mechanical float internal to the pump

I have always used mechanical switches on bilge pumps with no issues in over 30 years. My last boat had Sahara pumps with built in float switches and they worked perfect for the 6 years I used them

i will check out the Sahara pumps...

Pretty much my go to replacement bilge pump for all applications

Nice, compact, fully integrated float switch design. Easy to install in most bilge areas. Available from 500, 750 and 1100 gph.

Starting to see the attwood sahara model bilge pump oem from boat manufacturers, sump boxes too
