At a loss SOLUTION

1990 25 hp Evinrude.
After putting in a fuel pump kit, carbkit, waterpump rebuild,and having a new power pack installed. The motor still didn't run right. I was told the slow mode was taking over. I don't have 1.Had a sugestion that it was the thermostat.???. Consultin with my shop mechanic he said fuel pump. I said I just put in a kit. Well he was consistant. I put a new fuel pump on and tested it today. Ran great. Would hold wot. Actually had to lean out idleas it was to rich. Ran it up and down the river saveral times never missed a beat. Fingers crossed for sure. Going over to the big river Fri for the big test. Wish me Luck.

I've heard that problem before, rebuilding the pump isn't the best route.

Thanks for reporting back Blksmith1.

Fuel pumps are sometimes hard to get assembled,while keeping the diaphragm tight. If a person follows the directions that come with the kit, the results are good. It took me two attempts to get mine done right. Hope this helps someone.
