I admit I don't understand all the noise on this issue.
Didn't the Pres shortly after 9/11 brag about the treasury and justice department tracking terrorist funding?
Could any Alqaida type be at all surprised that their financial transactions be tracked?
Would any court in the land deny a warrant to any government agency tracking a legitimately suspected terrorist group?
Now if the administration is somehow bypassing the courts for authority, one can only ask why they are excluding oversight.
With an administration that has been proven demonstrably wrong or incompetent on so many other issues, and preferred to be as secretive as this one has, I can't imagine the concept that we should trust them to operate without any oversight at all.
We need someone to be a check on their power. If congress is not willing to do it, it is good the press will.
