this tan and brn/white wire. are they supposed to be hooked up together? could this be why when i turn my key on, that my gauges go wonky? example. rpm moves from 0 to just over 2k. and trim goes from up to pinned to the right. needle not seen.....
Trace them out. The tan is usually overheat alarm sender and the brown/white may be for a temp gauge. Perhaps the PO removed the overheat sender and replaced it with a temp sensor?

my manual says brn/white is trim. and i believe the tan is for the water temp. my trim sender is missing. i am guessing that these wires should not be joined together in holy matrimony....?
