Are thermostats really needed in South Florida ? I'm currently running a 95 Yamaha Pro 150 on a 18' Hewes Redfisher. I was wondering instead of changing them, can I just leave them out? Any help in this situatuion would be appriciated.

Don't do it. The Tstat equalizes the head temp, keepeng it from warping.
And as a sage (i think it was Dhadley) put it, "They would save a bundle on the per- unit cost,if they weren't needed, and leave them out when they made it".
I learned that here myself.

Ditto on that. It's a safe bet they wouldn,t put them there if they weren't needed.Same as in your car. ;)

Thanks for all the great info. The chart was interesting. I'm off to the Yamaha dealer to replace my originals. Keep up the great work. :D
