The 100 hr. oil change figure is an arbitrary number based upon the “average” seasonal hours assuring the oil gets changes once a season . It has nothing to do with the oils performance.I see your point but our season is short on the north side of the Great Lakes and they are all hauled out for the winter. I likely would go over the 100 hr interval some seasons and would have the pay the mid-season $195 service fee for haul out and gear lube change. I'd be very happy to pay this twice in a season because that would mean I pretty much lived on the boat!
