Re: AQ125A No Spark From Coil

I did get the new belt for an 82 Volvo 242DL, didn't get a pulley, but I noticed as I rotated the engine manually that there were spots that the belt were nice and tight, and at one point loose enough to slide it off without loosing the tensioner pulley. I would really prefer to rebuild this engine, but fear the dollars involved. I would think if it was the pulley, it would jump before the cam pulley after the idler. There is a little rust on the main bearing pulley, but the teeth don't look rounded or worn around the edges. I will hit the rusted areas with some steel wool and see what that does.

WEll, after further inspection, and a few phone calls, I am making the guess that I have internal lower end problems. Unless someone has any other reasons that bthe belt would jump so bad, and be tight in one spot, and loose in another while rotating it by hand. Another Compression test reads 100 on cylinder 1, and between 110 and 115 on the rest. a wet test brings it back up to 145 across the board.
