Use a long punch or screwdriver and pierce the metal ring holding the seal. Then use a combination of long nose pliers and screwdrivers to pull the seal out. It's close tolerence in there so it'll take a bit to wiggle it out.
Thanks guys, sounds like a small sacrifice. I have that other deiagram where it says simply "remove the seals"
This place is great, sure appreciate the help.
All went well except for the part where the seal was all plastic and what I had inturpreted as a metal ring around the edge of the seal was actually a ridge on the housing that i gouged the crap out of with my screw driver. Luckly I had an old one to test with first, and the gouge will probably buff out with sandpaper.
