Re: apology

Hi Trevor,
No big deal, alot of people on here are hawking their websites or products. I don't see anything wrong with it, if you can help someone who needs a part or advice. People worry to much about nothing. If I may say so here, Happy New Year to you and yours!

Re: apology

Sorry you may be confused guys.

I appreciate Trevor's post and hope he hangs around. I think everyone at iboats feels the same way.

Please do not forget who provides this forum for us and what business they are in.

Do you go to your local dealer and offer your products for sale to his customers? I didn't think so. :)

Re: apology

I agree with respect to the products that they sell it is wrong to take biz from iboats considering that they provide us with this service for free but do you think we should pay for a classified ad or is it fair to say that from time to time one of us might have a part to sell to another member that is not offered by i boats and that the cost of the ad might be prohibitive in respect to the cost of the part I do respect your opinion jb in fact it was you who helped me identify a leak I had (oh did I say thanks) so what do you think should we all refrain from any reference to any part motor or sevice (again not offered by Iboat) or not

Re: apology

For a while, Miloman, I would say refrain from selling via posts.

If someone says he is looking for a widget and you have one to sell, have him Email you.

I expect that we will have a low cost classified section soon. That should be ideal for selling small and low cost items without eroding iboats business. :)

Re: apology

hello, i don't peep in here very often. now, sloopy, i believe you would do that. but then you should probably write a disclaimer that you're not only a one-of-a-kind, you're .... you're.... you are... i forget ;)

i only wanted to post because this is an excellent example of the good that JB does in this place. it seems very fair & very logical to me.

hopefully, iboats will prosper to the point that we might put away with some overhead charges on advertisements, and save even more $$$ on stuff :D this place is so comfy to most people, we forget what provides the backbone to it.

with that said, miloman, i forgot to add this link to the propeller info i gave you earlier:
http://www.boat-propellers.net/

JB has stated "If someone says he is looking for a widget and you have one to sell, have him Email you"

Sounds logical to me JB. I'll keep that in mind.
