Hello again,

I have recently been having problems shifting out of gear when in the water. It doesn't happen all the time though, and sometimes I even have to shift towards reverse in some cases to get it out of forward. I have adjusted the shift cable as per the service manual, and the gears work fine other than coming out of gear. I am certain that my shift interrupt isn't working properly. I have checked the switch by manually engaging it with the engine running and it dies so the switch itself is working properly. There seems to be something wrong with the plate that is supposed to engage the switch. I'm not really sure how to word this.... Is there some sort of adjustment I can make to it, or something I should be looking for to know if it is working properly?

I am under the impression that as the shifter is brought towards the neutral position it loads up a spring that then 'snaps' and moves the plate along the switch itself engaging it for that split second as the shifter is brought to neutral position.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated as always. Thank you for your time!
