If it bugs you that much might as well go ahead and sell it. My 05 Z71 did that, and like yours, it was almost exclusively at speeds in excess of 55 mph. Guess what I did?;)

And this is what I am talking about. The manufacturer spends hundreds of thousands of man hours setting this database up and you think you actually know more than they do? Really?
If the engineers that create this database for a living tell me not to touch it, I take their advice.[/QUOTE

Smokin, I knew it wouldn't take long.

My personal belief is that something is wrong with the tranny, either mechanically or electronically, knowing that I would take it in for service and have it checked out, if you decide to tinker with it and something is wrong will likely not improve things anyway so whats the point?

You may be right Lippster, but to me it just sounds an awful lot like a 1500 towing something. Mine did the same thing if I exceeded 55 or so. Certainly no harm in getting it checked out, but my expectation is they will say it's normal.

Just my two cents worth if I had a truck that did that while towing and nothing could be done about it I would get rid of it. I understand that that may not be an option for you at this moment but that would drive me insane.

They also spend thousands of man-hours to run things on the safe side. And yes, a lot of aftermarket companies know as much or more than they do. Usually they are ex-techs.

You just have to be careful what you run. A lot of programmers are vary safe for your vehicle but some that have extreme and high performance tunes Can run your vehicle to the ragged edge and cause failure. If using a tuner I would say find one with a good towing tune and not push it any further than that.

to the OP, it sounds like your truck is hunting for a gear. turn OD off and let it sit in gear and see what happens.

I agree with you, but follow the process first and see what they say then make a decision who knows the dealership may actually get it right.........

yeah I agree with you LOL

Must be a chevy thing, buy a ford! Sorry, couldn't resist. I have been looking for a tuner for my v-10, but like already said, found nothing that was worth it. From what I have been told, the v-10 is pretty maxed out already.
