Anyone use a chopper gun?

I am getting ready to do a floor and transom on my bass boat. At the shop we have a chopper gun, plenty of gun roving, and a sprayer for the resin. Anyone have any experience with this? I have never done it. I've fiberglassed a ton, but never used the gun. Better or worse than csm? I imagine it's nowhere near as strong as cloth. Just wondering if I should bother trying it or if I'm just gonna make a huge mess. Thanks!

Really going to create a heavy mess ........ CSM or cloth will do better. You want it sealed and flat. The chopper gun will leave voids and tiny spaces where water will penetrate.

Sorry no real short cut here.

That's kinda what I figured. Honestly, I didn't really want to try it because I can see myself making a huge mess but if it produced better results I might have tried it. I'm more comfortable with a brush anyway. Just thought it looked like a neat toy.
