Depending on what you are shipping over in can get pretty involved. Also the price of the items can greatly change what's involved in shipping the items. I imagine the items you ship will for the most part be below the $1500 or $1600 canadian (not at work to check the regs) to be elligible for NAFTA statements.

Essentially you have to be able to fill out the commercial invoice, certificate of origin, and then there are the duties to be paid for.

Let me know what you are looking to ship and I'll help you out the best I can.

You can search this site and it will give you the regs but its all lawyer speak so you have to know how to apply the rules to read them.

DOT regulations

Do not under any circumstances send them anything that can leak fuel or has a fuel smell. It will be intercepted and dumped. It will not reach your buyer.

I sent a hundred dollar item to N.B. Canada from my local post office with no hitches or paperwork. The reciever of the package got his goods in less than a week with no contact from customs. The cost was maybe +20% at most. I don't know if this is normal but my customer says he has never had a problem. Chief Chief

Mark, I ship to Canada every day. Depending on the size and weight of the item is how the USPS will admisister the customs form. I highly advise you use the air mail option due to parcel post being very slow.

If you decide to insure the package .... hang onto your wallet!!!! There is no cheap reliable way to get delivery confirmation.

IMO shipping across boarders to Canada, Australia, UK they are all fine in my book.

on ebay 360Moto

I had some problems with the Canadian Money Order, my bank charged me $45 to cash the $56 money order. If possible stick with Paypal. The Customs folks opened and poorly re-sealed the package, it arrived in Canada damaged. So I had to refund the $56, it was insured but the Post Office wanted a receipt before thay would pay the claim. Who has a receipt for a 35 year old radio, what a deal. :(

For that small of a dollar, shouldn't be a problem. As was mentioned before just make sure that you fill out the paperwork to the best of your knowledge.

Be very careful if the product you ship can in any way be viewed as a hazardous shipment, compressed gas(lighters and such), fuel residues(engine parts not all but occasionally if they have a fuel resevoir), and LI ion batteries (many newer tools) are the big ones that don'e get claimed and can lead to massive fines. Best of luck, if you need any help with the paperwork let me know.
