Anyone know where to find this piece?

Still trying to get the boat working after its misadventure getting beached/swamped during a storm. Thought this piece would be an easy to find generic, but I can only find full rib rail systems, and I'm also not sure what the piece is called.

If that is cast aluminum like it appears in your pic, wouldnt be that hard to make. Get some putty and reshape that one back to original condition. Find a casting shop, take it to them or send to them to cast you a new one. They just need your repaired part to push into clay or sand to make a simple mold to cast a new one. Good luck finding your part !!

I would call it a bow end cap for the rub rail. Probably like finding a needle in a haystack given the variety of bow profiles.

I bet if you find a good aluminum welder he could fill that in. On my first (and only) total boat and outboard overhaul project 22 Years ago I bought a 70 h.p. 3 cylinder Johnson outboard where the center cylinder connecting rod decided to make a hole in the engine block. Never new it was possible, but a guy told me to take it to this certain place and he'll weld that up.
So I brought it to the guy, came back in a few hours and I literally couldn't even tell there used to be a hole in the block.

That's what I've been calling it. I don't think it needs to be exact, just close enough. Given how common that piece was, I'm surprised that no one makes a generic.

Actually, this might be an idea. Maybe a little metal repair epoxy would do the trick

Rub rail splice cap or rub rail trim cap. Most likely a TACO part or similar

Years ago I purchased a product called Metal Cast from McMaster Carr. It was like a two part epoxy. Once it hardened you could drill it, machine it, it was awesome!
