Anyone know the difference? Yamaha bearing carrier S-1 and S-2 ?

I have a rare 1989 Yamaha sterndrive lower unit with a damaged bearing carrier, 6J900 on it and also S-1. I have another good bearing carrier with the same number except this one has S-2 . Does anyone know if there’s a difference between these two carriers?

I think I have the parts I need. My lower unit casing is cracked , worked for the first three years I had it with a weld repair until it started leaking around the carrier Oring. The casing I bought came with a bearing carrier but the gears and shaft are damaged. The gear ratio is different anyway so i need to swap my gears and shaft into the good casing. Hopefully the bearing carrier will work . Only difference I see is the S-1 & S-2. Parts are hard to find but information is even harder.
