Has anyone here done significant work on a Prokat 2860 or similar?
These are wood-free hulls, but they seem to have some foam in the front part of each sponson. they also have a floor in the forward bilge area that prevents access to the actual bottom of the keel area...which does not seem to flow water to the stern the way one would expect. on my boat there are bilge pumps that are cut into the floor to get access to that area beneath....I wonder if those are factory or previous owner.
Due to a bunch of previous abuse, the net result is that the foam in my forward sponsons is saturated...which accounts for the quart of water i always find in my bilge, even when the boat is on the trailer. I plan to try to cut it out this winter, but wondered if anyone here has had a prokat opened up and could share any insight?
