Re: Anybody watching Top Gear USA?
I don't know what it is, but the Uk guys have a way of making fun of Americans and political correctness that makes me laugh and not be the least bit upset.
If I was a celebrity I'd be telling my agent to get me on that show!! How much fun would THAT be?
I tried to watch the US version and just could not, I turned it off before the first commercial. Just no fun.
I have heard that some are trying this.
They consider the Top Gear show to be the best biggest show(Ophra is big, but the benefits are not as big to the guest) to be invited on to.
It does not let the guest run or manipulate the situation, and Clarkson (host) does not patronize or pump-up-promote the guest. Quite the opposite.
I saw Cruze and Diaz on it, and they didn't have a clue how it was going to all pan out.
It was quite a magical natural interview. When Diaz hid behind Cruze on the couch!!!
I reckon (just my guess) one of the Princes will go on it one day. I think either would make it brilliant TV - well maybe Harry more-so.
Did you see the one where they took a 'new' american car each and travelled thru part of your country ending up at the Salt Lake drag strip.
One of your car companies (was it Buick or Chrysler - wish i could remember) wouldn't give them a car and they had to buy one!!
I mean, they give a 60 minute advertisment to the entire Western World, and one car manufacturer didn't know who they were and wouldn't go along with it.
Absolutely great TV.
It was the one Capt Slow got, and didn't like, for days - them really got the hang of American machinery and loved it.
Cheers
