That sounds like fun. Picked up a pair of used waterskis pretty cheap yesterday. Haven't been on skis in many years, done plenty of wakeboarding/kneeboarding, so the skis were something different. Got up fine, tried to kick off a ski and slalom, that lasted about 200 yards! I'll have to work on that some more. Going to cruise over to Ft Desoto today, some friends are doing a picnic. Hope to do some wreck-diving tomorrow morning if the Gulf will lay down some. It doesn't bother me too much, but my girlfriend doesn't like 4' swells too much!

We spent the day at Shell Key on Saturday, overnighted at Gulfport Municipal and back to Shell on Sunday. Saturday was PERFECT. On Sunday anchoring was a nightmare by the inlet (i still don't dare bring my boat around to the south side of were people simply beach their boats), it was rough and our anchor wouldn't hold... Fortunately a bunch of good samaritans came to help. Someone had to dive and set the anchor manually. <br />A few other boats were washed aground in the next couple of hours, including a big Formula cruiser (about 40').

Yea it was pretty rough Sunday, I was out on the Gulf for a short while, the waves were close together and the wind was strong! Pretty wet ride! I'm about to venture out here in a few minutes the wind is much calmer today so hopefully the Gulf is flatter. I have a few full dive tanks I want to use! Was going to go yesterday but didn't feel like taking a wet pounding for 70 miles!!!

Headed out today and there was a boat totally swamped just outside Pass-a-Grille pass, Sherrif's Dept, Coast Guard, and Eckerd College rescue were all on scene. Looked like a fairly new boat, probably a little small to be on the Gulf in that kind of chop. Looked like an I/O; man that has got to be tough, but according to the Coast Guard guy I spoke to, everyone was unharmed.

Finally.......Got up really early this morning and made it to a wreck for some diving. Nice flat Gulf. Recovered a brand new anchor and chain, a gaff hook, and a body glove diving mask. Who says there is no treasure left!
