Re: Any South Jersey Shore boaters here?!

I was out around Mantoloking last Saturday, and cruised through the Point Pleasant canal. I've also been in the upper Delaware around Pennsville and the C&D. It's our first year with the powerboat so we're exploring. It's a trailer boat so we can choose fresh or salt water depending on what we want to do each day.

I've been sailing off Brigantine for 20 years.

I'm a 'part-time' Jersey boater. My sister has a house in Cape May, so I've taken some of my toys there in the past. In 2005 I cruised down in my Silverton from the Chesapeake, and run my 14 footer and SeaDoo in the harbor from time to time.
Oh yeah, I also kayak there. 2 summers ago I circumnavigated Cape May in a sea kayak.

Nice.

I live 1 mile from where the C&D Canal meets the Delaware. In summer, I spend my boating days all over Cape May County. My boat is on a rack outside Wildwood off Rt 47.

Kayaks are very popular around the Cape now. Very cool.

I've been tempted to take a journey up the Del Bay to C&D. Definitely going to cut across the bay along the Ferry route and visit Rehobeth down to Ocean City Maryland. C&D is where I live, but I don't boat there (yet).

Hello fellow Jersey boaters, born and raised in South Jersey on the banks of Delaware River. I?ve spent quite a bit of time on the tidal Schuylkill as well.

Most of my catch and eat leaves out of Barnegat Light, Margate, Cape May, Sea Isle City and Fortescue. I try to make a trip every season through the C & D Canal and down in to the Chesapeake Bay.

I?ve visited many places both in the states and in Europe while I was in the service and I still rank the region as a whole, pretty high on the list for boating. Enjoy it while the weather is nice.

So.... you live near the Chesapeake but keep your boat at the shore?
Have you considered moving the boat closer to home? IMO the the upper Bay (and its fresh water) is waaaay better than the shore. You've got great variety of marinas to choose from near you- Summit North, Locust Point, Triton, Harbor North. Even the Bohemia River marinas are close.
Once you come to the Chessy, I'll bet you won't want to go back!

Well, I have beach-front property in North Wildwood, NJ (Five miles from Cape May). Cape May county is amazing.

As for the Chessie, we are fortunate enough to also have a place on the Sassafras River (North Chessie). We use our 14' Alumacraft there.

For local, Delaware boating: Friends (avid fisherman) dunk their boats locally (near C&D).

The Jersery Shore is dear to my heart. I get to enjoy the Chessie and its tributaries, the Delaware River and the C&D Canal.

I am one lucky S.O.B.

I'm in South Jersey. Usually cruise in the Maurice (Morris) River and the Delaware Bay.
