I'm no expert but I will bet that fish is older than the guy who caught him. It's a catch of a lifetime, but most likely not to tasty or safe to eat. A fish that old, will be loaded with bad stuff.

There's s place on Lake Superior that is called : Stanard Rock, and it's quite a ride to get to from what I'm told. Anyways the lake trout come to this rock pile out in the middle of the lake and some I have seen on film are almost as big as this. Very very old fish for sure.

They catch fish that big in Lake Tahoe and I bet they are safe to eat. Probably depends a lot on the lake.

We catch them on Flathead Lake also, heck they have two contests a year to catch as many as you can and first prize is $10.000, it is illegal to turn them loose up here.

They catch fish that big in Lake Tahoe and I bet they are safe to eat. Probably depends a lot on the lake.

all top predator fish are contaminated with methyl-mercury as a result of air pollution. Some of the tunas are the worst
