That's right, you have one of those big honkin' bass boats that we'll hear coming halfway across the lake!

Just saw this thread...... Working 318 hours in 28 days doesn't give much time for the internet in a motel....., BUT, I am about 10 miles west of Duluth. I am surprised there aren't any others from the Duluth area.

+1 for another Minnesotan...white bear lake area. This snow there forecasting better be an early April Fools Joke. Last year I had the boat on the water April 15th and I'm hoping for the same this year.

What's the status of White Bear Lake? I keep hearing the water is disappearing but not inline with the wet weather. Every lake we go to is full and WBL seems to buck the trend.

Ya, we've got the same low lake levels here. Small watershed.

I too am a Wisconsin mudduck. Originally from Elk River, currently in Hayward, WI. And if it don't beat all. My Godfather has a cabin on (IIRC) Pike Island? on lake Vermillion.

Hey neighbor! You know I never heard the term mudduck until I moved to WI. Thought it was humerous.... Say, looked at my maps and couldn't find Pike island. Although, they don't show the name of every little island.... Where abouts is it?

I think we launched off of a ramp in Tower.
It wasnt very far from there. His cabin is inside a bay on the island.
I've only been there once, when i was about 14 or so. I do remember that is was a small island and kind of horeshoe shaped.

I bet it was an island in Pike "Bay". Maybe Duffy Island? What did you get for snow? I'm north of you and it was a bust for us....... So much for getting the sled out 1 more time....

Sorry it took so long to get back. Not getting updates on open threads.

We had about 12 inches of snow here. Along with very very cold air again.

Checked a lake map myself, and Duffy Island sounds right, even looks right. But, again, it was over 15 years ago that I was there.
I do remember my God Father taking me fishing in his boat that afternoon, we didn't catch anything. But I did catch a bass off his dock later that day.

Looks like there are two of us in Isanti. If you see the noisy White Astro running around, that'd be me. I think I'm going to do a little more fishing in Rush Lake this year. Never been to Vermillion, I think I'd rather go to a lake like that with someone that knows how/where to fish it.

I might be tempted to run up with my Glastron once I finish it though.

I used to be! ...lived in Owatonna, and Medford. Favorite vacation spots were up north at Spider Lake and Little Island Lake. the very first airplane I ever had a ride in was a pontoon plane on Spider Lake. Ahhh, I can see the mosquitos now... :)

Hey everybody, I live west of the twin cities abuot a 1/2 hour. Lake are ok out by Winsted but spend 97% of my time in the Brianerd Lakes area, Gull Lake, Pelican, up to Leach. Boy this interlink thing really makes for a small world. :)
