I have a 6" air sander and just wondering if it could be used as a buffer / polisher the one at canadian tire says polish/sanding they look like a grinder. and with the air sander you could lower the air pressure {compressure}to the sander has anyone done this was thinking of trying it but wanted to get advice from some one before i try this tanks all

There are air powered buffers and they work well, With no other information on the type of grinder you have its hard to say for sure, but it should work fine.

Most tool outlets can get them.

If the arbor on yours will match up with the backing pad for the buffing pads you should be fine.

The difference between yours and a buffing model may be the gear ratio, the buffer will turn slower, about 2,800 rpms or less. You can turn down the air volume and try to slow yours down if needed, keep the pressure high though, volume will affect the speed, pressure will affect the power.

Check Princess Auto You can order online or head into Ottawa and pick it up in store. Check they have them in stock first but I've seen them there.

The problem with the sanders/grinders is the RPMs are quite high on them.
