To all. I have a 1994 evinrude 115, I took the hood off to paint it and noticed I had a vacuum hose that had broke off some place. It's the top one in the middle that is right above the top carburetor. The end above the carb is still connected but the other end broke off somewhere. I would like to know if anyone can tell me where to connect it, will this prevent it from running or just run rough if not fixed, and/or if I plug it with a bolt will that do any good or nothing at all. thanks for your help. Temps supposed to be 75 on Friday and I would like to hit the water, haven't been in a couple weeks.

Are you talking about the primer hose? Is it about 3/16".

could be the primer hose, it didn't appear out of place when I rebuilt the carbs a couple months ago, I just noticed it last night. Too dark to take a picture, but I can when I get off work as I try and trace it down. Here's some more info on my outboard which you guys probably already know. It has two carbs on on top of the other. On top of the very top carb the hose is connected. The end which is not connected appears to be broken off from someplace because the end is a little jagged and not smooth. I'll put some pics on later today to show my meaning

Does your motor have a breather line that goes to the airbox?

I took off the front cover and inspected it the best I could, I looked high and low and couldn't find any place missing a hose. Here are the pics, you can see it is attached to the top carb on one end, the other end just lays over, but it also doesn't look hollow like a normal hose wouldhose 2.jpg

That line should come from the primer.

Does the other end of the hose attach to the upper carb, in the middle under the silver plate? It looks like the primer hose is hooked to the carb, but is it hooked to the primer solenoid.

Turn primer lever to manual position, pump bulb slowly, looking for gas leak. You will find where it goes. Compare to bottom carb.

Looks like it broke the nipple off of the primer solenoid.

Thanks everyone, I must have taken the hood off a dozen times looking. removing stuff and finally today, I noticed the tiny little hose where it had broken off the primer knob. The nipple wasn't broken, the hose just broke. I put it back and zip tied it. I thank you all for your help. I'm sure there will be more questions posed to the group as time wears on. Happy fishing, boating, drinking or whatever it is you all do to pass the time
