I'm moving my freestanding gas fireplace into a corner of my home and unfortunately, I have misplaced my original installation instructions.

I need to know what the approximate clearance I should leave behind the stove.

I originally replaced my wood stove several years ago with a gas one. The wood stove sat on a rock hearth far away from the wall, so there was no issue of wall clearance.

My gas stove does not get hot at all behind it and I know you can set them much closer to the wall than a wood stove.

Anyone happen to have or know where I can look at a typical installation manual?

Thanks,

H.

OK.... I get the 'DUH' award for the week... LOL

I was trying to find the model number of the stove, and TA-DA!! the clearance dimensions were on an inner door of the stove...

:)

It would appear that it only needs 3" from any combustible material. I think I'll double it to be safe.

H.

Ok Homerr,
I am going to take a stab in the dark here and say you need at a minimum 2 15/16" clearance or thereabouts...
Your model number may need 3" though
:D :D

Glad you found what you needed.

AK Chappy

I'd crimp and solder those connections.
Then switch to synthetic gas.
Then you can reduce your clearance requirements by .00004%
