currently redoing the floor in my lund tyee 1850, and am getting ready to cut the carpet. was originally thinking snap-in, as the boat is used mainly for fishing. am going to cut it today, and then have a vinyl border sewn on. before i take it it in, i decided i should ask if anyone can think of a downside to doing this. i can't, except for the viinyl border showing around the edge. but im okay with that. the deck is 3/4 ext. ply, with one coat of epoxy sealer, and two coats of epoxy resin. all holes will be sealed(screws and 5200), also i was thinking of sealing the seams in the decking with silicone, as the deck over the fuel tank i want to be able to remove easily.
all opinions welcome, thanks

Carpet Stretches. Overtime it will loosen up an begin to develop wrinkles and bunch up in spots. You would need to cut it and reinstall the snaps in order for it to fit tightly again.
