I am looking to buy a forester boat 1985, 16" osprey. I've added pics so that you can all give me your opinions. I have never owned a boat but the price of $1200 seems to be a good deal. Sell says it runs great and that they used it every summer. Any questions I should be asking?

any advice before buying a forester boat?

Re: any advice before buying a forester boat

Hi,

Yes...I owned a 86 Forester for 7 years, with a 70 Johnson. Loved it. A great little boat. Rode well, and was solid. We used in exclusively on a lake which wasnt too rough. Only got rid of it to move up to a 22' Salt Water fishing boat. I did replace the Floor from the windshield back, and a stringer. Mine was the 16.5 Phantom with a bench type seat at the very back in front of the motor. Seating anyone there other than small kids made planning off slow.

Seems like a nice price if everything checks out. Keep it covered and the elements out. I've seen a few of these in my travels. The company is long since out of business.
