So I did some trading and ended up with a 1980 Carver Santa Cruz 2866

I want to name it but after doing some research on the renaming procedure I'm stumped :(

You can see where the name was on the transom, all I can make out is "prou and I can't find out what the whole name of the boat was, any suggestions?
Also how would I get the remainder of the old name off?

oops!

Re: Another renaming question

hi...

this depands on how the name is on the boat,

stickers can be taken off with a heat gun or a rubber eraser with a drill.

paint can be sanded off,

if you are talking about the color difference (shading) in gellcoat. you will have to sand with 600 grit and try and get some of it out, but you wont get it all !

Make sure you follow the proper re-naming procedure... otherwise the boat gods will get mad :)

I did it to my new boat, and videoed the whole process.

It's all in good fun.

Thanks for the replies, the most important thing is that doing the ceremony requires you to say the old name of the boat but I can't find out the full name
