When running full throttle the fuel pump bump will suck in and cut off fuel. When this happens, I unplug from tank and relieve the bulb, plug line back in and the motor runs fine as long as I do not go full throttle. I have inspected the pickup in the tank, nothing there. thanks for any help.

did you try removing filler cap when ball collapsed? Does the ball expand if you do this?

No I did not. My cap does not provide the best seal in the world but I can not say that in does not seal while running. Should there be some sort of vent on the tank or cap? I will try that the next time I am out.

Is the tank built in or is it removeable? If removeable, it probably has vent in cap. If built in, may be an extra hose coming off tank. If you remove cap when ball collapsed, and the ball expands, you'll know its a vent problem.....

good luck :)

Also, look for a ball type check valve dealy in the fuel pickup tube, and remove it. Don't replace it, remove it and leave it out. Anti-syphon valve. Just dont leave hose connected to the tank when not in use. Could also be bad primer bulb,or clogged fuel line.

Dont believe I would leave the valve out. Its there for a reason..And its a Coast Guard regulation.. But that just my thoughts. I know why 12footer says what he did, but they are not expensive.

It's a coast gaurd reg not to make them without that ball in there. But I'm sure they won't arrest you for removing it. I won't run a boat knowing it is stll there. I don't like sudden stops, and will do anything to avoid them. Of course,my lack of respect for dumb boat safety items is notorious on this site...I hate lanyard kill switches, and know of one day-ending injury which was the direct result of one.But then, there are many injuries and deaths caused by runaway vessels too...I just wish to choose my own methods,as opposed to NTSA mandated methods.
So, take my advice with a grain of salt,(JMHO).
