another fuel water seperator question

Hello,

A recent post regarding a fuel water separator got me thinking. Is it necessary to stagger the hose fittings on the head of the filter, or is it okay to use two that are side by side and cap the two on the opposite side? I ask because I thought as long as the inlet hose goes on the "in" arrow and the outlet on the "out" arrow, your good to go. Now I'm wondering if they have to be on opposite sides of the filter mount.

Hello,

Now I'm wondering if they have to be on opposite sides of the filter mount.

Nope. One in and one out. One funnels fuel down the center of the cartridge and the other has fuel coming around the outside of the cartridge. I forget which is which.

Zeeter is right, just as long as one is "inlet" and one is "outlet" it makes no difference, I have both of my fittings on the same side, and it works just fine.
