This boat is for sale here in the northeast. I'm still in search of our first boat. Any opinions on this particular brand and model? This is what I know about it via email:

It's the original motor. No hours but estimated around 125.
2nd owner, has owned for about 8-10 yrs.
2" ball.
Selling for Dad who hasn't been able to use it much.
No major repairs needed just normal service. Not sure if records are available. I know he has the manuals for it.
It's good to go. No known issues.
Stored in garage.

What eng & drive? Beside a service I would make sure the drive is pulled and the coupler alignment is correct, U-joints lubed gimbal bearing inspected, bellows are ok and replace the water pump impeller at a minimum. Was it Winterized? Did it freeze over the winter and crack the block, manifolds, etc.? Has it been used this season?

Probabally a 3.0L with mercruiser - most common combo. Check the floor between the ski locker and motor cover - just bounce on it. It'll move some but if it is mushy you'll be able to tell. Big thing is a water test, take it out and run it to make sure it performs decently and and then check the dipstick. Also check the bilge after the test run and make sure it is still dry. I'd replace the impeller and grease the gimbal, but personally wouldn't botther pulling the drive until end of season.

I'm on my second 1950/195 and I think they are a decent boat. Fairly light so you get decent performance out of the 3.0L
