Hello everyone!
My first visit to the site and it looks great! Lots of helpful info.
So I have had a C.C. Lancer 327QLV (yep the backwards reverse rotation motor) w/AQ250 for several years and am tired of the no hydraulic trim thing. I have had to rebuild the motor twice now because of sucking sand in shallow water and I am getting ready to put the motor in again, but before I do I want to get the boat ready for the hydraulic trim upgrade by at least changing out the transom shield. I have been doing a lot of research regarding the least painful way to do this and the obvious way would be to get my hands on a 270T/280T etc.. But as it is stated throughout this forum, they are rather hard to find in complete affordable working condition. My lower unit is in excellent condition so I can use it in a new setup so I only really need the shield and the hardware to get the trim feature. I really want to get my boat in the water this year before too long.
I found a complete SX275 SP with shield (80's or 90's?) . The price is exceptional and I can road trip to get it in a short days drive. Very tempting until I started wondering if it will adapt to my setup. Someone here said it would work but the transom opening for the older shield is larger than the new shield. So maybe not as easy as 123... Is that the only thing in my way? Or are their other surprises I am not aware of?? The unit is being offered with all related hardware and electrics. It's missing the hydraulic pump but I can get that.
I tried to attach a pic of it below but it doesn't look like it worked..

Any input on my upgrade would be appreciated.
Thanks!
