Can you still light a match to cover a fart on an Airbus?

The relative weakness of the US dollar vs the Euro might have something to do with it as well.

possible, but...deliveries on an aircraft order placed today begin months (maybe a year or more) in the future. Example, the first delivery against an order placed today for 24 aircraft might be scheduled for June '07, with one or maybe two per month for the following 12 to 24 months; the last delivery might be 2 1/2 years down the road. They won't lock in an exchange rate. Either company might independently hedge by buying futures in the other currency.

BTW delivery price in those contracts is always indexed to some agreed-upon combination of economic factors, which typically include at a minimum a published metals price index and a wage index.

Whaddya mean? They offer terms?

The last 767 I bought, they made me pay cash up front!

boeing won't tote the note, nor will airbus, but airbus might be able to hook ya up with some foreign-government interest rate buy-downs (for an example google "embraer vs bombardier"). or they might work a deal with a leasing company

good thing the US goverment never "helped" boeing or my dad would have never retired from the Everett WA plant.
with many years trying to fix the unfixable V-22.
what a joke that craft is and alsways will be.
however the govt paid my dad, indirectly, for years to try to keep it afloat.
the airbus 300 is very very nice. however so is the boeing 757.
I fly both quite a bit.
the only drawback I see to the airbus 380 is the limited runways and terminals that can use it.
its kinda like the chicken or the egg debate but has absolutly nothing to do with political leanings . in fact if it leans at all its capitalist leanings. if the airbus dont sell it will be scrapped.
