I admit this disturbs me a lot. I can't imagine anything worse than innocent little schoolgirls being targeted, but happening at an Amish school just goes beyond the pale.

There are few groups of people I respect more than the Amish people generally. They just want to live their lives, not impose their beliefs on anyone else.

I've done business with them over the years a lot, and there is no better folks to deal with. They always do what they say they will do, pay their bills on time every time, etc, and only ask in return that people they deal with do the same.

What a gentle bunch of folks, and while no one deserves this kind of thing happening to them, somehow it is doubly bad that this happened to them.

I don't pray much, but I pray for them.

I agree, I deal with the Amish and Mennonite community here in Illinois. Very nice people.

Very sad. It is hard for normal people to comprehend why someone would do this sort of thing.

Yep, this one kills me too. Reading the Amish' primary concern for the shooter's family just makes it hurt a little more . . .

The Amish have been targets in the past....sadly enough.
Some folks refer to them as "Clapes", slang for clay apes.
In the past when they have been targeted their response has been as much concern for the perps as for thier own.

May God help them find solace....

A horrific and tragic event, more disturbing as the details become clearer. As for the Amish community two different worlds. One shown to outsiders and the real Amish ways.
