hello I made a post earlier about doing an engine swap and heres where Im at.

Ive disconnected all wires, hoses, lines, and dropped the outdrive. Im told to pull the engine with the tranny intact but im not sure how to do that. Ive removed the large bolts in the back and was told to remove the front mount bolts from the boat rather than leave the mounts in, as shown in the photos...

do I just lift it out now? or is there more stuff i need to disconnect.

first time pulling an engine, and of course its out of a boat :( any help or tips would be greatly appreciated

1 make sure its completely disconnected, water hoses, bonding wires, battery cables, power steering hoses, remove the 2 rear bolts, the 4 lags for the front mounts, attach a lifting bar or chains to THE LIFTING EYES
pull straight up and out.

Sounds like you're ready to lift it out! My recommendation is to make sure to take your time with the engine lift... you'll find out in a hurry if you left anything connected

Are you putting the same engine back in? If you are, I would recommend using some west system with filler to fill in the holes so you can get the mounts to thread better and help keep moister out of the stingers

Ok, so another 350... so the mounts will be in the same place. They make a few (I think 3) different kinds of filler products that you add to the west epoxy mix. It makes the west a solid that fills gaps and holes and such. It allows you to essentially fill the holes from the lag screws and make them like they were never there. it will more or less make the hole from the old screws solid again so you get better bit when you put them back in

There really isn't a transmission with an I/O... the outdrive mates directly to the fly wheel via a coupler. If you took out the 2 mounting screws from the gimbal/transom assembly, then you're good to go

That is a way to locate a leak.you pull the drive, pull the engine. re-install the drive and dunk it in the water

Not sure it was ever mentioned, but you must remove the outdrive before pulling the engine. The outdrive is the 'tranny' in this case. Also remove the exhaust elbows. Do not remove the engine thinking you can slip it off the rubber exhaust hoses. That is a good way to break a $600 Y pipe.
