I've searched this topic but there is so much info out there I was hoping someone would clarify it for me. I'm repainting an aluminum boat. The boat is always trailered. If I scuff up the original paint and prime the few bare spots there are, what kind of paint do I use?

Hello Drice and welcome to Iboats :) .

There is No Alum paint per-say .. You have to prep it correctly for any paint process.

The paint doesnt know its alum :) .

Yup scuff the paint..spot prime with ZC primer Bare alum...and put whatever paint that fits your pocket book ;) .

I hope that Tractor supply gloss black price is a typ0 ;) .. 35 bucks for 12 oz..good lord !

Yup, that's the GALLON price. 11.99 per Quart! I like it cuz of the Hardener additive. Specs and Feedback are very favorable. But like the Doc says, a good paint job is ALL in the prep.

Didn't know I could just use enamel paint. That will make that part of the project much cheaper than I thought

A guy I work with uses that Tractor Supply stuff on tractors he restores. He says it's tough as nails and has a good shine to it.
